About Us

Wabu Jananyu – Growing a Sustainable Future

Wabu Jananyu is an Indigenous-owned business proudly operated by the Girringun Aboriginal Corporation (GAC). Guided by cultural heritage and environmental stewardship, we specialise in native plant nurseries, thriving native fruit orchards, and large-scale revegetation projects—all working towards a more sustainable and resilient future.

Our nursery supplies high-quality native trees to support land restoration, sustainable agriculture, and revegetation efforts. Our native fruit orchards cultivate bush foods that honour Indigenous knowledge while creating new economic opportunities. Through revegetation initiatives, we restore ecosystems, protect biodiversity, and strengthen Country for future generations.

Our
Story

Wabu Jananyu was founded to create economic opportunities for Indigenous communities while restoring and protecting the environment. Inspired by traditional ecological knowledge and a deep respect for the land, we combine Indigenous land management practices with modern conservation techniques to regenerate Country.

What began as a small nursery for revegetation projects has grown into a leading Indigenous enterprise, supplying native plants, expanding bush food production, and undertaking large-scale restoration efforts. Beyond environmental impact, our work provides meaningful employment and training for Indigenous people, ensuring that cultural knowledge continues to guide the future of land care.

At Wabu Jananyu, we believe that by restoring the land, we strengthen our communities. We invite you to join us in growing a greener future.

Our Vision

Our vision is to see Indigenous voices leading the native fruit industry, cultivating a future where traditional knowledge and sustainable practices drive innovation and growth. We aspire to create a thriving, Indigenous-led ecosystem that not only celebrates and nurtures native plants but also provides meaningful employment and opportunities for Indigenous communities. By empowering Indigenous peoples as custodians of the land and leaders in the bush food industry, we envision a future where the cultivation of native fruits and plants contributes to both cultural preservation and economic resilience, fostering a greener, more inclusive world for generations to come.
